2013: Joni and Friends Family Camp - Message From Judy
Dear Family and Friends,
Wow, I can’t believe that this will be my 10th year at Joni and Friends Family Camp. This year the camp is July 15th - 19th.
God has blessed me every year as I have gone to serve people affected by disabilities, I always come away richer than when I went.
Sara, who I’ve gone to camp with the last two years, is a double amputee and
uses prosthesis. She lives here in Redding so we are able to drive together to camp, which is in the Santa Cruz
Mountains about 6 hours from Redding. Driving together gives Sara and me lots of time to talk and pray for our camp experience.
Here we are from last year’s camp. Sara is in the middle and my dear friend Kara Ferris is on the left.
Kara and I went to Joni’s camp together for the very first time in 2004, and she is now on staff of Joni and
Friends and does an amazing job as STM Coordinator of Family Retreats.
I am so blessed to know all these awesome people; I have tons of pictures with lots of memories from the last nine years.
You should see their eyes when I skate into the meeting hall and share my story with everyone. It has been a privilege to serve at Joni’s camp for almost a decade.
How thankful I am to have met Joni and Ken Tada - they are wonderful people who are doing an awesome work serving people touched by disabilities all over the world.

2012: Joni and Friends Family Camp - Message From Judy
Dear Family and Friends,
It is once again that time of year to register for Joni and Friends camp for families who live
with disability. This will be my ninth year serving and I am so grateful for the opportunity
God gives me each year to be a part of this awesome ministry by serving and showing His love to
so many children and parents – parents who come to camp for a much needed break, time alone with
no responsibilities and a place where everyone receives love, acceptance and much encouragement.
It is a blessing to know that each one of us has something to give; a smile, a helping hand,
a word of encouragement - "kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see".
On July 16th I will join hundreds of others who come from all around the country to serve at the Family Camp
in Scotts Valley, California. Those of us who serve at camp must pay a fee which not only covers our expenses,
but also goes toward helping provide scholarships for the families affected by disabilities. Also,
I have an opportunity to give Sarah - my camper from last year - a ride to family retreat this year.
So, I am writing to ask for your help to go back to camp again this July.
